Video and Photo Thumbnails

If you are like me with thousands of photos and images (not very well organised), it can sometimes be difficult to find the footage or photo you are looking for. Currently I use the “View in Windows Explorer” function and drag the images directly from Windows Explorer into trakAxPC. We realise however, that this is not a perfect solution. That’s why for the next release, we have integrated a Thumbnail viewer. Whether you prefer the regular Explorer, Scan or Recent Files style Media Browser within trakAxPC, you will be able to view all your videos and photos as Thumbnails.

Although this is still a work in progress, I have attached some screenshots below:

We have a few more plans for how we deal with photos, but I’ll come back to that when I have something solid to show you guys.

In Track Parsing

Another feature we have been working on is ”In Track Parsing”. At the moment, when you drag in a large video track or open a large mix, trakAxPC must parse these files before placing them in the track. With our new In Track Parsing, you simply drag in your files and the parsing will take place in the background. This means that you never have to stop working on your mix and should lead to a much more productive workflow. To give you an idea of how this will work in action, please see the screenshot below:

In the video below, Cormac shows you, step-by-step, how to create a cool video collage at the end of your video, ready to add your annotations, so you can get viewers to go to other videos you have created or to go directly to your channel page. This is a great tool, especially for business users where you want to keep potential customers as engaged as possible with your message.

The Autoselection Tool is available from the Mixing Screen Toolbar or while holding down the left button on your mouse, click on the right mouse button - see the video below for more:

I’m really impressed with the quality of the final video - have to check out those GoPro cameras, which are surprisingly affordable. Well done to André for such an amazing achievement - to finish a 50k Cross-Country Ski Marathon is really something and thanks for sharing the video.

To set a new Ringtone varies from device to device, however, it is usually located in Profiles > Sounds & Alerts or Settings > Sounds & Notifications. Some devices allow you to browse for new sounds, however with other devices you will have to place the new Ringtone in the folder where the “Sounds” are located.

Downloading HD Clips from YouTube

It has come to our attention that the FREE version of trakAxPC (i.e when the 30 day free trial has ended) does not allow users to export a file.

We are working on fix for this and hope to have it released in the next few days.
This issue does not effect users who have paid for or are currently running the full version of TrakAxPC Pro in trial mode.

In the video below, I have shown four examples of how you can use credits and the intro music to create different atmospheres. I have just shown the first two items in the credit sequence, but you could obviously build on these ideas to build an entire opening sequence for your credits.

Some Tips - Fonts

To give your credits a more professional look, try playing around with different versions of the same font - so the first element in the Credit could be a “bold” version of the font, with the second element in a “light” version of the same font.

If you have a very limited selection of fonts on your PC, you may want to look at increasing your collection. Fonts can cost anything from completely free to $1000, but a really good, clean font will be worth the investment and you’ll find yourself returning to use it time after time.

If you are creating a video for a business or a corporate presentation, sometimes you may struggle to source a piece of video that is suitable for the intro. A great way to get over this, is to source some affordable royalty-free video. Where we have placed our intro credits, could be your product messaging and key sales lines. There are tons of royalty-free video sites out there and prices can vary considerably, but two that are worth checking out are:
