“I am thrilled to see a program like this finally make its way to the Windows Mobile platform. Trakax provides a fantastic introduction to media mixing for Windows Mobile users.” Doug Goldring - GearDiary.com

We were delighted to day to see such a thorough review of trakAxMobile in Gear Diary.  Like any good reviewer, Doug has some suggestions to improve trakAxMobile - all points we’ve taken on board and are currently hard at work at implementing.

A few snippets from the review:

“There you have it. Just add media, mix, and save. Three easy steps to perfect media mixes. What’s that? You say the pictures are all in the wrong order? and you only want a small section of the video and song you used? Oh and you want to add some captions and credits. And you want video transitions between your pictures? Yikes, that is a pretty tall order. Fortunately, the advanced features offered by Trakax, what I call Beyond the Three Steps are ready to jump in and help.”

“Adding captions or text on top of your photos and videos is a piece of cake. Tap the Text icon and you are ready to roll. Tap inside the big text box and start typing. Once you are done, the text will be displayed on the screen, along with your formatting options.”

Probably one thing to clarify:
“One thing I did find odd was that there is no way to pause a channel. If you deactivate the channel while recording, it will restart from the beginning of the channel, rather than where you left off.”
This is true for Audio, although your videos and slideshows will restart at the point that they were at when they were stopped. We will look into the option of ‘pausing’ the audio.

I think the options that Doug would most like to see are more advanced transitions and effects and more advanced options to edit audio, video and photos. Our main aim when developing trakAxMobile was creating an application that everyone could use - teenagers, business people, parents, grandparents etc. Hopefully we have come close to fulfilling this aim and we believe we now have to build on this base and create even more options and functionality that people are looking for.

Our first priority is to release trakAxMobile for 640x480 devices - this is close to completion and looking really exciting. The extra screen space has allowed us to really sharpen up the graphical experience and I’m looking forward to getting feedback on it.

Many thanks again to Doug and to GearDiary - it’s great to get such a detailed and fair review - and we appreciate all reviewers that take the time to really examine the application and give great feedback and constructive comments.

The comment below is taken from the end summary of the review:
“This is a program which has been a long time coming for the Windows Mobile platform. Once you figure out the controls, very easy to use. I made a media mix in a matter of minutes. Nice to have all of the tools in one place.”

Remember - if you’re visiting the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, be sure to drop by our stand, we’d love to meet with you and give a full product demonstration. See here for more information.
