Windows 7

We are delighted to confirm that the upcoming trakAxPC application with Pro features will run on Windows 7. So if you are one of the many thousands who have upgraded, you can also upgrade to the new trakAxPC.

Although there were not very many benefits to the major delay of the new release, one was that we have had the chance to test the application on the official Windows 7 release. We are delighted to say, all has been working great and there have been no major hiccups.

We would love to hear your views on Windows 7. On our side, the upgrade was not without pain, although the documentation claims that the path from Vista to 7 should be worry-free. We had some issues with drivers and sound cards, but to be fair it wasn’t too bad and we expected the worst. I agree with many commentators that Windows 7 should have been either free or a lot cheaper than it was for Vista users - I think we deserve a break for actually buying Vista in the first place. Another gripe was the inability to buy a downloadable version in Ireland - had to go to the store in town to make the purchase - wouldn’t have thought it is really a complicated process in this day and age to make a downloadable version for all countries considering the resources at Microsoft’s disposal.

On the plus side, we have no issues since the install and were over the moon that trakAxPC runs great on it.

How have you found Windows 7?

As per my post earlier today, we are gearing up for the new release and will keep you updated all this week.

Actually just saw if you bought your PC / Vista after June 26, you get a free upgrade to Windows 7:

I’ve been using Windows 7 x64 for quite some time now (since beta) and recently purchased it while it was on preorder discount.
I’ve found it to be very stable and even the oldest of programs I’ve used on XP seem to work fine, even a Photo editing application designed for Windows 95!

I’m glad to hear TrakAx Pro works well on 7, I’m presuming it will work fine on x64 too?

It does feel very much like Vista except refined and optimised, I still haven’t fully grasped the new names and layout of the various control panel tools but I guess that will come with time.
