We’re extremely excited to be attending the World Mobile Congress again this year in Barcelona.
We’ve taken a meeting room in Hall 1 this year and already have a pretty busy schedule organised. However, Jim and Colm will be free to meet at various stages throughout the show, either at our place or your’s - please feel free to contact Jim or Colm either now or at the show to arrange a suitable time to meet up.

We also hope to reacquaint ourselves with many of the people that we met last year - we’ve made huge progress in the last year. In particular, the updated trakAxMobile VGA version with its advanced features should hopefully prove interesting, especially those who asked for more effects and transitions, advanced photo editing and tempo control. From reports I’ve been reading, visitor numbers are expected to be down somewhat this year, although the exhibitor numbers have remained stable and often these are the people doing business, so it’s not all bad. There also seems to be some great deals on last minute accommodation (compared to last year, which was so expensive!), so perhaps we’ll see a last minute rush.
One thing I find slightly disappointing is the Global Mobile Awards at the GSMA do not have a category for applications - Mobile Games is the closest category that I can see (let me know if I’m wrong here). With the success of the App Store for the iPhones and more people becoming aware of applications for their Windows Mobile devices, perhaps this is something that GSMA should look at? Also, many of the categories are dominated by the big names - Vodafone, Telstra, Samsung, Nokia etc., who obviously have the budgets to enter the awards in multiple categories and with tickets for this event costing Stg£410 per person (!), smaller companies are really squeezed out. I know from previous years at the CES in Las Vegas, there were multiple award ceremonies, some which were free to enter and attend, and from a small company’s perspective, I think this would be really welcomed at the Mobile Congress. Anyway, enough moaning!
We hope to see you at the show and please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime, either to meet up at show or if you would like further information on trakAxMobile.
Thanks and hopefully see you in Barcelona!

Hi - I’d love to buy your mobile video editor but I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia with a 800x480 WVGA screen.
Do you have any plans to release a version I can use?
Regards,
David.

Hi David,
thanks for your kind words and your interest in trakAxMobile.
We will be developing the application on the 480x800 screen resolution in the next month or so as this screen resolution is becoming very popular with the phone manufacturers.
We will keep you posted with our progress,
Kind regards,
Colm

Thanks for your comment - you’re right, I think people would really welcome a change at the WMC. At the moment, it is all about the big manufacturers and carriers. However, I think like at the CES, there is a place for the smaller companies to make a contribution and show some cutting edge ideas to a larger audience.
