        <p>Hi;
<br />
I am having a problem with TrakAx PC ver 4.02
<br />
When I try to start TrakAx PC, I get the error:
<br />
&#8220;TrakAx failed to start its licensing service.
<br />
I have had this problem before, on Windows 7 64-bit with TrakAx PC ver 3.xx.
</p>
<p>
My OS is Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
</p>
<p>
I am running Norton Internet Security ver 19.9.0.9 (current version and updated)
</p>
<p>
TrakAx was running fine after my problem was fixed back in March by installing the ver 4 beta (after receiving help from support).
<br />
This problem started either after I ran a registry cleaner (Uniblue Registry Booster 2013), or when I deleted the contents of my &#8220;\Users\myusername\appdata\temp&#8221; folder. I am not sure, because I didn&#8217;t try to run TrakAx anytime between the two operations.
<br />
I tried removing (completely removing all folders and registry entries) TrakAx, then re-installing. When that didn&#8217;t work, I tried re-installing while Norton was turned off. No good.
<br />
I then tried running TrakAx as Admin; no good. Finally, I tried running TrakAx while Norton was turned off; no good.
</p>
<p>
The Nalpeiron Licensing Service is not installed. I do not see any entry for it in Services.
</p>
<p>
I hope you can help me.
<br />
Thanks
</p>
<p>
Frank

        <p>Being the owner of a few video editing programmes from well established vendors, I happened to come by this one by accident following a forum post on a popular deals site and thought I would check it out.
</p>
<p>
After an hour of using the trial, I was very impressed indeed with the range of functions and the speed of operation with regards to realtime functionality and export.
</p>
<p>
When searching the Web looking for video editing software, trakaxpc (odd name) doesn&#8217;t come up and I would certainly recommend a larger marketing strategy as many people out there may miss out on something that offers real value for money.
</p>
<p>
A couple of questions though on a few things that have cropped up;
</p>
<p>
1. When I want to select a point in time of a video clip to perhaps start a scrub or select a point to apply an effect etc, I find it very infuriating that I have to double click on that particular point, which in turn produces a little yellow marker on the timeline that I then have to right click and select the option to remove the loop selection in order to do things such as scrubbing from that point as it will only allow you to do so otherwise within than small yellow region. Is there a way to simply click on the timeline and have the placement marker move there without further operation?
</p>
<p>
2. I was surprised that when adding an effect, the effect was added to a small portion of a clip, rather than the whole of it. Now I do like the idea that you can apply an effect to a small portion of a clip but wondered how it could also be applied to a whole one without having the resize it to cover it all, which could be time consuming for a clip hat spans many minutes. I know that I could resize the view window to make a particular clip span less of it for selection but would prefer an option to do it without having to do any resizing of my timeline view.
</p>
<p>
3. After the program closes down, on re-opening, the scanned media is gone, so you have to repeat the process each time, so wondered if that could be saved in any way and only rescanned when I know that I will have added more media?
</p>
<p>
I don&#8217;t know if the software can access all cores on a machine, which would be really useful and with many programs now being optimised for NVidia and AMD GPU&#8217;s, there is very little support for the truly excellent Intel Quick Sync, for which it appears that Intel is now making available for free with the introduction of the Intel Media SDK (<a href="http://www.trakax.com/software?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fsoftware.intel.com%2Fen-us%2Fvcsource%2Ftools%2Fmedia-sdk">http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsource/tools/media-sdk</a>).
</p>
<p>
Thanks <img src="http://trakax.pmhclients.com/images/smileys/grin.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="grin" style="border:0;" />

        <p>Hi,
</p>
<p>
I tried using the transition &#8220;Compositor 2&#8221; (isn&#8217;t it actually an effect?) and I don&#8217;t understand its behavior or maybe this is a bug ...
</p>
<p>
Please see attached images:
<br />
Snapshot_2: video 1 without transition
<br />
Snapshot_3: I crop video 1 so the lower half is visible only and moved to top
<br />
Snapshot_4: video 2 without transition
<br />
Snapshot_5: I crop video 2 so the lower half is visible only and stays on bottom
<br />
Snapshot_6: the result of both shows video 1 on top and video 2 on bottom
</p>
<p>
BUT, the visible part of video 1 is its upper half, NOT the lower half. Why?
</p>
