Problem with video quality and collages

I have a question. I am using the trial version of TrakAxPC, try before you buy and all that. Anyway, When I export my videos which were recorded with Dxtory in 720p and export the videos in 720p the video comes out very blurry and pixilated. I am basically losing quality. Am I missing a function?

A little more info:

I am attempting to put a webcam video in the corner of my gameplay video. I had to record both vids separately and now I want to put them together using the collage function.

The webcam was recorded using WMM.

Thanks for any help

Issues with fades - darkening picture

I’m currently editing a project right now with the trial version. When overlapping segments, it seems to take a few attempts until the cross-fade is activated. However, now that the cross-fade is activited, it darkens the picture during the duration of the fade. The video is normal brightness before and after the fade however. I right-clicked and tried a number of different fade types but the picture always darkens during the fade. I have used fades / dissolves when editing with Avid Cinema and Windows Movie Maker and the picture didn’t darken when using those software. Is it possible to maintain image brightness when fades are inserted with TrakAx?

Oh another thing - with the target frame size, I selected 720 x 576 as I am working with a PAL DV file. However, the specified aspect ratio is wrong. It’s indicating 5:4 whereas it should be 4:3.

There’s also something else - in the mixing window, there doesn’t appear to be an audio track to lay audio on. When I opened the software last night, I could see both a video track and an audio track within this window. Currently, the rest of the mixing window interface is visible but minus an audio track.

By the way, thanks for the tutorial videos last night - they have been quite helpful.

Removing audio?

I am considering downloading a trial version of TrakAX which I would like to use to edit a video file that was created with Windows Movie Maker. Firstly, can you remove the original audio from the video with TrakAx? What I would like to do is erase the audio and replace it with a new soundtrack (there’s an MP3 file on my hard drive that I want to use as the new soundtrack.) Also, can TrakAx recognise and successfully import AVI video files that were created with Windows Movie Maker? Ive used Ulead Video Studio in the past but that couldn’t recognise video files that were created with WMM.

Noob looking to make my first music video

Hi all, I’m a “one man band” musician and it’s time to make a music video, ala’ Hey Ya from Outkast.I found nearly everything I’ve needed w/trakAxPc but can’t find how to do this: I want to add sub-titles and then have a bouncing horsehead follow the lyrics as they’re sung. It used to be called “follow the bouncing ball”. I searched other video software’s methods and wow, are they difficult. It dosent have to follow it exactly in time so there’s no need to add BPM. If someone can point me in the right direction that’d be cool. Thanks and I’ll post when I’m done. The Vidiot.

What’s the best audio format to use for MP3 player, ipod & Windows Media Player?

Hi,

Thanks for releasing V4! It’s really handy for me to directly open DVD VTS files in TrakAxPC Pro without first having to convert them to MP4 files.

I post audio and video files on a website for people to view and download. The files are actually hosted on archive.org and the links are posted on my website. People viewing my website can click the audio and video files and they will stream from archive.org.

My question is now that you have eliminated the mp3 file type what audio file type should I use that will play with people’s Windows Media Player and will also work when downloaded to a MP3 player or an ipod? The mp3 file format was good because it played all three ways listed above. I read the answer about m4a being better, becoming more popular than mp3, etc. but Windows Media Player won’t play it and I can’t expect a website visitor to go looking for a codec pack to add the capability.

Thanks,

Chuck

Hi, I’m trying to edit a video and one of the files is stuck at Parsing… Pending. Its not going anywhere. I’m using the Beta 2 version, which is generally excellent. This video (MP4, generate by GoPro) plays fine on Quicktime and the likes, but just won’t parse.

Any suggestions please?

thanks,

Export problems

Hi there,

I have a completed audio and video mix which play perfectly fine in trakax but comes up with several problems when exported. Problems include segments flickering over each other, struggling to render effects, and segments appearing to be in the wrong place chronologically when they are in the right place in the mixing screen.

I assume I have made an error somewhere but have no idea where to look.

Thanks

Resizing Video/Images

Hello! Really sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t find a thread for it. I was wondering if it is possible to resize a video/image. But I don’t mean just increase/decrease the image size, I mean cut some of it out. So for example, if you have a video shot of some activity going on, but you only want to use the video footage in say one half of the frame, is there a way to select just some of what’s on the screen?

Thanks
