hello, i am loving the software so far but i ran into a HUGE issue, it will not let me import my AVCHD video files! why is this and is there anyway i can import them?

Newbie, just been using the software (free Version) and have already decided to buy the Pro version if I can find where to get it. Anyway, I’ve pretty much done most of what I needed to do in boring ol’ Windows Movie Maker, which when I saved the files, did not save everything (some scenes are blacked out, others stop in the middle and then skip to the end of the clip). So I’ve go to redo most of my movie in TracAx. But I’m not sure how to combine the clips together and have watched the videos that should contain this information twice already today. I would need to take certain clips and add them to the film, not at the end or beginning, but between other scenes. How do I do this? I’ll continue to seek the answer on my own until help arrives here, and if I find out myself before then, I’ll update this post. Thank you in advance for your time and patience, I’m okay with computers but not a genius!

I recently got a movie, but the audio and the video don’t match up. So I had planned to extract the audio and match it up with a muted copy of the movie, but unfortunately I don’t know how to get only the audio. Can someone help me with this ?

Split Screen - Quad

Audio track missing

Windows 7, AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.89 GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, 1TB Hard drive

Having a frustrating time here.
When importing mpg files, the audio track just disappears; or rather, it’s just a flat line.
I know it’s there, because the file will play normally in the default players.
I’ve tried <convert audio only> to mp3, but with no result.

The files I’m trying to open are originally .MOD from a camcorder; but I had no trouble previously.
Some other files are playing ok; so my copy of TrakAx seems to be functioning fine.

Recently upgraded to Windows 7 on a new machine.
Couldn’t get Audacity to read from the sound card, so used the workround of external connections; but I don’t see how taht could be casuing this problem.

I don’t think that can be causing the present problem,

Any ideas?
