Hi all, new to TrakAx and loving it. Well done, it is a well constructed piece of software. My wishlist for this software is adding Low/High Pass cutoff and Low/High Pass Resonance. That would just be awesome. On the video side Croma keying would be great for making special effects. anyway, well done on a great piece of software.

Hello again.....
11 hours of using this great program so far and found a necessity, a way to Export the file I am working on to an External Editor to do fine tweaking, etc. and then a way to Import it back with a few mouse clicks. In Kristal I use Wavosaur, and there is a section to select an External Editor. When I am working on a track, I can Select it, Right Click and select “Edit in External Editor”. Then Wavosaur opens, I do my thing, save the file, and Close Wavosaur. Then back in Kristal I Right Click the file and Select “Unlock and Refresh” and my edited file is placed right back where it belongs on the track.

Anyway, I am having a blast so far! TrakAx has opened every Beta Monkey, Smartloop, and most DOD and BOD loops I have tried, but it has had a few problems reading some of the Acid 8-Packs I have downloaded, and Inner Rhythm Studio loops. But overall a great experience so far!

Thanks Guys for the excellent feedback! It is users like you who will help us make TrakAxpPC a better experience for our users.
I will test some of the Acid packs through the software today and have a look at some of the software you have suggested. We are looking at the effects at the moment and in the process of improving them.
The Dev team is back after the new year and we will sit down and go through your suggestions. Some great stuff there.

Thanks again, we appreciate all your feedback!

Cheers

First off, major dummy here! This great program can already render to the .ogg format.......I just found it about an hour ago....DUH!

2nd, another feature that I use a lot that is missing, the ability to bounce selected cuts, or tracks, down to another track. For example, I have my drum loops spread over 6 tracks, Kick, Snare, HH, Toms, Ride and Crash Cymbals (I really do have this many, or more, sometimes). I really like the Kick-Snare Ride Cymbal groove, but not sure of the HH, Tom rolls or Crash Cymbals so far. In AA 1.5 I can select just the Kick-Snare-Ride tracks and Bounce them to the next open track, in this case Track 7. Then I can mute the originals, and play with the rolls, cymbal hits, etc. until I am happy.

This would also need the ability to select a whole track individually somehow, something like Double Clicking in the individual Mixer Window Track Controls of the Track (s) that you want to bounce. This way I can keep all the Original files, and save time by not having to “Save As..” and re-import it every time I make a slight change.

20 + hours now working in the TrakAx program, and loving it more and more. Kristal imports .ogg files, and the .ogg’s generated by this program works fine when importing them. A nice way to save space when working out tracks, and when your ready to “get ‘er done” just save them as a .wav.

Again, Great Program and Thanks for making it available! cool smile

PS-Why can we only enter Author, Title, and Description information when Rendering to .wma and not to .wav or .ogg?

Hi Smurf

Again thanks for the great feedback. When the dev team is back this week, we will go through all your suggestions and questions in detail.
Thank you very much for the detailed suggestions and feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to write such a great report on the software.
I will get back to you very soon for an answer on the title of wav and ogg.

Cheers and thanks again.

One major wish I would have (and I don’t know how viable it would be) is to have TrakAx support ReWire, so I can use it with Reason.

The main reason(!) I discovered TrakAx is that Reason doesn’t support audio recording, but is probably the best MIDI/Synth sequencer ever!

The fact that I can record amazing drum tracks and piano really grates when I cant lay a guitar track over the top..

so.. would there be any chance of TrakAx supporting ReWire?

Keep up the great work, guys!

Hi Satchman2000

Thanks for the update. I will pass on your suggestion to the dev team. The dev team are currently working on the new features for the upcoming release and I don’t think it is feasible to incorporate this into the latest release but we have taken note of your request and will research it further. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your kind words.

Best Regards
Cormac

I love TrackAx!!! I found it a few months ago & it just about saved my life. My old Vestax 4 Track Tape Recorder had gone down for the count & I really didn’t have money to put into something new. Now, I’ve begun making better recordings than ever by just plugging my mixer directly into the PC sound card & laying down tracks in TrackAx. I get better control & sound, speedier production, and have more brain power to give to the music instead of fighting tape hiss & switch control battles… and it’s all for free. This ROCKS!!!!!!!

My only question is, will you add MIDI support? I don’t think that it works all that well with live audio but, I’ve begun using another great free program, TuxGuitar. This has also helped me greatly because I can quickly lay down the actual music score of my work. This is not only good for sharing with other musicians & students via PDF but, it also helps me to structure a song to be more purposefully interesting & dynamic. If TrackAx had the same MIDI features of TuxGuitar… WoW! The MIDI track could be used as a backbone for song construction & simply muted for the rendering process unless desired otherwise.

Hi ISDAMan

Thank you for kind words about TrakAxPC and we glad you enjoying the application, we really appreciate it.

At the moment we are currently working hard on the new version of trakAxPC. Midi support is on development roadmap but unfortunately It will not be ready for the next version of trakAxPC. We hope to have midi support in future releases of trakAxPC and we will keep you updated.

Best regards
Cormac

Hi TrakAx Admin person,

I only wish that the program let you generate the music as well… Maybe it does, I just toyed with the one trak included, moving and stretching and adjusting all the little fin things I could change. LOL

I also wish I could import WAV and MP3 loops I made with Audacity, as thar has been my main sound toy as it provide so much flexibility with import and expert options that I can then use in my slideshows. smile

No problem I found workarounds for the format issues, not a big deal just more of a this would be cool if it had it thought. smile

I just read that OGG sound format is able to be imported and exported. That is cool… But, now I need to convert to it… LOL

My hat is off to who ever made this program, I think I will enjoy it very much.

Other than that this is one really cool program so far. smile

I’d love the ability to lock an envelope to a track - so I can move a track around & have the envelope follow it.  Kind of like how a mask is locked to a layer in Photoshop.

Hi D-Fine

Thanks for the post. We actually have this functionality done for the next release as well as a grouping/binding function. This release will be ready in the very near future.

Cheers
