As a journalist, the audio editing capabilities of TrakAx mobile look promising for on-the-field mixing, but since you don’t seem to offer a demo or trial version, a lot of questions come to mind before committing to buy your software:

Does TrakAx respect the original sample rate of MP3 files imported?
Is it destructive or non-destructive editing?
Does it offer different sample rates for the final mix exporting?
Can it save in MP3 or WAV if it’s only sound and music in the mix?
What are the audio editing functions, only start/stop points?

Please let me know.
Thanks!

Hey,

Thanks for your queries. A Demo Version will be available shortly - probably by the end of the day. I will update the forum as soon as it’s live.

You can save your resulting mixes in the following formats (to assist users, there is a built-in Wizard to help users tailor the output depending on their needs):
* Best Quality: MPEG4 or AAC if audio only - Very high-quality file: Perfect for uploading to the web through your PC
* Free Mixing: MPEG4 or AAC if audio only - - High-quality file: Smaller file size than ‘Best Quality’
* Ringtones: AAC/WAV if AAC isn’t supported as Ringtones on the phone
* Small MMS: .3GP H263+AMR or AMR if audio only
* Large MMS: .3GP H263+AMR or AMR if audio only
* Small Email Multimedia: MPEG4 or AAC if audio only
* Large Email Multimedia: MPEG4 or AAC if audio only
* Note: MPEG4 files contain MPEG4 video with AAC audio. 3GP files contain H263 video and AMR audio

Currently the audio editing functionality allows you to simply set new start/end points. Media is decompressed before mixing to allow the application to run smoothly on devices where resources are at a minimum.

trakAxMobile was primarily designed as a method to create fun, but yet sophisticated, video, music and photos mixes using content taken with and stored on mobile devices. It is not intended to replace desktop editing for more complex and memory-intensive projects, but rather a way to mix content on the go and share relatively short multimedia mixes/emails/MMS/slideshows etc.

I will be in touch as soon as the Trial Version is live.

Thanks again.
