Dear people ,
I seem to have a problem with sound distortion in traxAx ,
I have a file , or many files , which are professionaly recorded and are of good quality when i open them on , eg ,VCL media player or Win media player , good sound .
but when opened with Trakax they are distorted as if over driven ,,,
I chech that volume is at 90 and all other things I check are OK including the mixer etc ...
What am I missing that would make the sound so bad on just this one programme?

Hi Patereeko,

When an audio track is brought into Mixing Screen it is bound to a global tempo of 120BPM, as trakAxPC is a music creator as well as a video mixer.

If you want the track to play at its normal detected BPM, click on the disable/enable beat syncing button in the track name to unlock it from the global tempo. It is a little blue button with a drum in it. Once this has been disabled the track will now play at its normal speed and will not snap to the grid.

You can change the play rate of a segment to speed it up once it has been disabled from the Global Tempo. Here is a link with a video included that shows you how you can do this: http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Category:BPM_and_Global_Tempo::Changing_Tempo_of_Audio_using_Segment_Properties/

You can then use the adjust length indicators to repeat the segment:

Yes Colm , and thank you for your very quick reply ., i know about the beat sync button and that a clip can be speeded up or slowed down to fit ., However the problem is one of distorted sound quality , fast and distorted with the beatsync on or normal speed and distrorted with the beat sync off..
Difficult to explain perhaps so maybe to help I have attached an MP3 file of about 10 secs of my music recorded from VCL player on the computer , the next thing is the same 10 secs or so again but with the same tune loaded into Trakax and no settings were changed on any programme ...beatsync is off and volume at 90%m
I am looking all over for what is making the difference , I am sure there is some setting that is causing this but have not found it yet...still looking.....

Thanks for the update and sorry for the inconvenience.

There a maybe a codec conflict which could be causing an issue. It is quite hard to know without seeing the file in question.

Before you try this solution, please make sure your mixes are saved.

What I would recommend to do is:

Stage 1. Clear the Cache:

To do this, firstly close all mixing screens and click on Tools/
Maintenance.

Then click on Remove all files (See attached images).

Stage 2:

Once all the files have been cleared, close down trakAxPC.

Stage 3:

Download and install the full version of the latest K-lite Codec pack.

This codec pack is latest version of all the codecs that you need on your
PC, it also fixes any broken or corrupt codecs.

Make sure you select all the audio and video codecs in the the set-up
except the “non recommend option” at the end.

Stage 4:

Reopen trakAx and now try and bring in the file you are trying to mix and export it,
Hopefully this will sort out your issue, if not please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

If this continues after the following stages are completed,

Is some kind of TrakAx god , and force to be reckoned with
This was spot on advice , I did in fact install the codec software on advanced mode so I could see the choices that were there to be made , after install a few associations of files were changed from one programme default to another , thats ok ,..
The main thing is now I put up the same file in different programmes and it sounds the same ( like me playing the guitar very badly) , but in high quality and with no distortion , so now I can begin to link stuff with vidoes and begin messing ........
I really would never have found this if you had not told me . I do a lot of music stuff especially on this computer and over time things have been downloaded , updated and changed , I suppose .,,,

This was not only very good to solve but really fast as well , I have been struggling for a week or so now not really wanting to bug people about it until I ran out of ideas ... today that happened ,...and hey presto ..thank you very much .....
All i need now are next weeks lottery numbers in advance ......... ...no ? and you were doing so well............
