Hi trakAxPC!

Downloaded your great program and installed it. All okay. When running it, I find that each time I load a sound sample into the mixer e.g. a loop, when changing the tempo of the sample, it sounds non natural unless I get it near to the original tempo of the sample. Even then there is is like a fluttering double sound i.e. it is not a clear timestretch of the sample.

I chose to look at your program instead of using http://www.splice.com which due to being online has dropouts of the overall tracks being made.

My system setup is as follows:

OS - Windows XP Home edition SP2

H/W - HP Pavilion tower PC a1307.uk
AMD Sempron 3000+ processor
1.79Ghz processor
2.43GB RAM
Graphics Processor / Vendor: ATI Radeon Xpress 200
Video Memory: Shared Video Memory (UMA)

Sound card - integrated Realtek (works with every audio prog i have used eg Wavepad, Audicity, Splice.com etc. with no probs...)
Sound Output Mode: 5.1 channel surround
Compliant Standards: AC ‘97

Sound sample formats:
Using MP3 and WAV samples.

Can you tell me if there is a config setting I need to change? Or what else is the problem as the sound is definitely not right for me to use the program.

Thx

Hi Sam

If you are using samples where the detected BPMs are significantly different to global tempo you can click on the bpm parameter of that track and alter the stretching engine which will make it sound much better.

When you place a sample into a track in trakAxPC, click on the bpm parameter button on the track. I have included a screenshot.

Once you click on the button, in the stretching engine section select high quality (see screenshot).

When you select high quality, click close. The sample will now play better timestretched. One word of note - doing too many tracks at high quality might effect the performance of the application.

I hope this helps, fill us in how it goes and if you have any more questions don’t hesiate to contact me.

best regards
Cormac
