Hi RoBe

Thanks a million on the update. We have been trying to work out what this issue has been. The dev team looked into all the possibilities and we weren’t getting any answers. There must be some conflict on your machine. It is very difficult for us to know what is happening until we replicate the error here. We will keep trying to replicate your issue and if we come up with answers we will keep you up to date. The Dev team are still sure it is a directX issue as qedit.dll file is associated with it.

Thank you for informing us that it is not only TrakAxPC causing this issue and we will keep trying to get resolution for you on this issue.

best regards
Cormac
the Trakax team.

I am getting this weird message when I try to import videos from my computer into TraxAxPC from the library.

error.jpg

Attached is a copy of my dxdiag.txt.

Could it be because I converted the file into a .AVI? If so, what converter could I use to get it to the format needed? The program lets me open the Vista Sample videos fine btw.

Hi Jo3Black

Thanks for downloading TrakaxPC
It might be to be that the Avi file has a codec that is not supported by TrakAxPC. I will pass this error onto to the dev team and see if they have any ideas on what this could be. If the file is not big it would be great if you could pass it on to me at and we can have a look at it.

Cheers
Cormac

Hello
Just downloaded trakAxPC version 2.0.108 but when I try and open a MP3 it just shuts down with this error message:
AppName: trakaxpc.exe AppVer: 2.0.108.0 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

Any ideas?

Hi Grymreapa

Thanks for downloading trakAxPC. Does this happen on every MP3 or just a particular mp3 you are trying to open up. If it is just one mp3 that is causing this error, can you please sent it to me at . We can have the dev team have a look at it over here and try and replicate the issue.

Best regards
Cormac

Sweet thanks for the reply.
Its actually happened to all the mp3s I had but it is opening the wav. files. Is there a format that you recommend for music files or should it handle all formats?

No problem at all.

It should open all wavs, wmv’s and mp3. We don’t have the codecs for i-tunes acc and m4a so you will not be able mix them. We haven’t encountered this error message before. You cannot open any mp3 at all? If you send one of the mp3’s to my e-mail account we can have a look at it and try and open it up over here.

Thanks
Cormac

Hi.
I was wondering if TA supports VST’s and Rewire? If not, do you plan on supporting them in the future?

Hi QuinneTE

Currently trakAxPC does not support VST and rewire. We plan to have VST’s support in the next version of trakAxPC.
If you have any more questions, please do not hesiate to contact me.

Hi,

Have been using trakax for just over a week now and on the whole think that its absolutely terrific. One problem - the software freezes when trying to move samples into the mix window. Screen display is parsing audio and then it stops at a part way point (sometimes as low as 10% sometimes as high as 90%) Cancelling the process gives “An error occurred while retrieving data from the clipboard”.

This is not for all samples but I can’t seem to see any logic or pattern to it.

PC runs XP professional, p4 with boosted ram. Other music based software includes Cubase, Sibelius, Reason.

Any ideas/suggestions as to how I overcome this problem ?

Forgot to say that they don’t play when selected in the explorer window either. Files are either wav or mp3 - have tested by converting to see if this helps - no change

Hi tim B

Thanks for your kind words about trakAxPC.

Are the wav samples 24bit samples? If so trakAxPC needs the 24bit codec installed on your machine in order to read them.
You can install this codec by downloading it @ (http://www.xpcodecpack.com/)

Because this codec pack is not developed by us we cannot take responsiblity for it but we have had other users download it and it has been fine.

With some MP3 files we have found direct x has an issue reading them. We have encountered this before and are in process of fixing this for next release. It should only happen on very few mp3 though and most should be working fine.

If you feel that this not the issue, please send a sample file of both a wav and an mp3 and we will have the development team look into it further. Please send it to

Please feel free to contact me at any time and thanks for the feedback.

Best regards
Cormac

I’m having trouble finding this effect.  I want to do a quadcam kind of thing not as a preview but as the final edit with 4 different video sources/files in a four way split screen, quad split, multiclip split, or whatever.
