I’m surprised and impressed that this piece of freeware exists!  Like others here, I was disappointed to see that trakAxPC doesn’t support VST, however this is a small complaint compared to what the software offers.  In fact, after experimenting with this program over the last several days, I posted a review on Looperman.com singing its praises (with a couple of caveats).

And I thought the open source freeware Audacity was a surprise!

Cheers and best of luck for your commercial success.

Does anyone know when the ‘Pro’ version of TrakAx is going to be released?

Dear Trakax,
I JUST downloaded this software. I still have no clue how to use it.
I have only a few questions:
1) How do you crop videos/audio?
2) Can you mix? (FOR EXAMPLE - Put a song as a track of a motion picture)
3) Do you have any cool tricks/tips for this program? I tried the video on the website, but it isn’t available.

Please help soon.
Thanks,
Britney Spears lover

Hi BSL

Thanks for downloading trakaxpc.

1)Yes you can edit/crop audio and video in trakaxpc.

In the media browser just double click on the audio or video clip you want to use and it will be brought into trakkutter. ( see screenshot)

Once the media clip is trakkutter, just hold down the shift key on your keyboard and while holding down the left button on your mouse, move the mouse to create a selection box. This selection can be adjusted in size to create the edit you want.

Once you have created your selection, right click on it and select copy and then go into the mixing screen and select paste. Your edited media is now in the mixing screen ready to mix. ( see screenshot)

2) Yes you can mix the audio files mp3,wav,wma,ogg and the video files wmv, avi, and certain mpgs.
Just drag and drop them into the mixing screen from the media broswer. Once they are in the mixing screen you mix them anyway you want to create your own audio or video mix.(see screenshot)

3) we do have many videos on our site which give you a good understanding of how the software works, you can access them at the following link

http://www.trakax.com/software/support/create_a_quick_mix/

or you can access them at the following forum post

http://www.trakax.com/software/forum/viewthread/12/

I hope this helps you get started and if you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards
Cormac

Hi Carlostevez,

Unfortunately the Qedit error is a bit of a pain.

We have experienced this issue before with another user (http://www.trakax.com/software/forum/viewthread/551/)

The Error that you are receiving is an issue with the Windows system and not specifically with the trakAxPC application. The solutions below are for Windows Movie Maker, but if you get this PC issue resolved, this will also work for trakAxPC.

Option 1 - Rename Intervideo
See: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-moviemaker/507896.htm

I’ve seen people run into this problem with applications installed from InterVideo. (This isn’t a bug in InterVideo’s application - it’s a Microsoft bug it’s just that InterVideo
applications can install a bunch of DirectShow filters). In this case you would go to your “C:\Program Files\InterVideo” directory and rename “InterVideo” to something like “TempInterVideo”. Then start MovieMaker. Once it has launched, close it down and rename “TempInterVideo” back to “InterVideo”.

Option 2 - Update your codec Pack
See http://tinyurl.com/ybqkf7h

Some Users who are experiencing this QEdit issue find that by completely updating their codec pack they can overcome this issue. Installing K-Lite Doce Pack - http://filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/ and the VLC Media Player can work - http://filehippo.com/download_vlc/

There is a site called PapaJohn - http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-Acceleration-and-Codecs.html - which deals with the most common Windows Movie Maker crashes which may also help.

Option 3 - Rename / Delete QEdit.dll in system32 folder
The user cinotL found this to solve his problem.

I hope one of the solutions below will get you up and running, but please let me know if we can assist you in any way.

Many thanks,

Catriona

Hello sir,

I’m planning to do a music remix and I want to extract some beat from one music, and mix it to the other, is there anyway to do that? I couldn’t find out so I’m here to ask you..
thanks…

Hi - thanks for your message. You can sample music and edit samples, but you cannot actually remove the beat from the backing track, vocals etc.

For more information on editing audio (and video) using the trakkutter, please see the link below:
http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Category:Trakkutter/

I hope this helps, but if you would like further information, please drop me a line at any stage.

Many thanks,

Catriona

Hi! I just had Installed DXDiag and there are no problems, errors and issues encountered. While in Graphedt, .avi, .mpeg, .mov, .mp3, worked fine! Thanks!
