Newbie, just been using the software (free Version) and have already decided to buy the Pro version if I can find where to get it.  Anyway, I’ve pretty much done most of what I needed to do in boring ol’ Windows Movie Maker, which when I saved the files, did not save everything (some scenes are blacked out, others stop in the middle and then skip to the end of the clip).  So I’ve go to redo most of my movie in TracAx.  But I’m not sure how to combine the clips together and have watched the videos that should contain this information twice already today.  I would need to take certain clips and add them to the film, not at the end or beginning, but between other scenes.  How do I do this?  I’ll continue to seek the answer on my own until help arrives here, and if I find out myself before then, I’ll update this post.  Thank you in advance for your time and patience, I’m okay with computers but not a genius!

Hi LadySaffire

Thanks for your post.

If you would like to place a video between other scenes in a video clip there is a number ways of doing this.

The first way is just to place the new video (with the new scene) directly underneath the video with the scene you want to replace. Then use the adjust length indicators to trim the new file:

This new trimmed video will then play over the video in the first track.

The second way is to use the trakkutter to cut out the parts of the video you want to use, leaving out the scenes you do not want. Then copying these scenes in the mixing window and moving them beside each other,..
Please see our video on this topic that you might find helpful

For exact/precise editing in the trakkutter please see our video on this topic:

The last way is just to bring the video file into the Mixing screen and use the adjust length indicators to edit the beginning and end of the video segment so that you use only the scene/s you want.

We have a video that shows how to you can create a basic video mix quickly that hopefully will help you and please do no not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Hey, thank you for the speedy reply!  I will try this today or tomorrow (I set aside a few hours every day to work on my movie, with weekends being Movie Editing Only days), and see how it looks.  This is great software, by the way.
