When I am editing a video the quality is really good, also 4 out of 5 times when i exported a video as the final project it came out perfect.
But this time when i exported the video, the video quality was realy choppy.  I open the file in media player and movie maker and it looked horrible.
Another thing to note is that when i am editing this video, it looks great, but when i export it… it looks like garbage.  I dont know what i am doing wrong because the other videos i exported looked fine.  What should i do?

Hi vectorman

Thanks for the post

It looks like your video could be rendered with a low quality frame rate and codec level.

To improve the quality of your video, select the file format you would like to use (I would pick MP4), increase the quality level in the video codec drop down box

(see screenshot)

and increase the frames per second in the frames per second drop down.own box:

(see screenshot)

Then click save.

Hopefully your video will be presented as you wish.

To learn more about exporting, please see our wiki with a video included.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

Cormac

I tried it out and it looks great.  Thanks 4 the help

I do have one more question.  When I am editing a video I cant figure out how to join two separate clips together.

For example, I could split a clip and in hald, but is the clip now permantly split or is there a way where I can join them together after splitting it

Hi Vectorman

Thanks for the update and glad your exports are looking great.

If you split a file it does stay split but if you do not mean to to do this you can always click on the undo button in main toolbar. ( see screenshot)

If you want to join two separate segments together so that they move as one unit. Just place them beside each other and select both of them using the auto selection tool. Then create a group. Once they are in a group they are literary joined together. The nice part is that they can be separated again at any time.

To learn more about the auto-selection tool, please see our wiki with a video included:
http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Category:Auto-Selection_Tool/

To learn more about Grouping, please see our wiki with a video included:

I hope this helps and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Best regards

Awesome!  Once again, thank you so much for the help,
best customer service i ever had.  grin

By the way TrakAx is a HELL OF A GOOD program and it leaves Windows Movie Maker in the dust.
After my trial, I might just purchase it.

I do have a couple more questions though.

I have been using the snapshot feature a lot and I have noticed that when I import my snapshot picture, the brightness is decreased significantly.  I don’t know what I am doing wrong, any ideas?

Also, if I were to buy TrakAx Pro, could I install it on both of my computers?

Hi Vectorman

Thanks a lot for your feedback. we really do appreciate it.

In regards to the snapshot function, trakAxPC only takes a snapshot at 320x240, if you are taking an image from a video playing the Mixing Screen.

If you want to improve the snapshot quality, you must take it from the video playing in Media Browser.

I have done a tips and tricks video to show you how to do this.

If you would like to see the video in a bigger screen (HD) please click inside the video while it is playing

In the new version which is due very soon we have improved this and it will take an uncompressed jpg from the original file and does not matter where the video is playing.

If you want to lift the brightness of a video segment or photo, just click on the segment properties icon of the segment and adjust the video bright slider in the segment window (see screenshot)

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

Cormac
