Firstly I want to say what a great program this is....I downloaded it last night and was up until 5 am....sad I know but I just couldn’t help myself!

Anyway, to the problem at hand...the program was working fine on my (rather old) laptop until suddenly
I received a message saying something like “An error occurred while retrieving data from the clipboard”. I don’t know why this has suddenly happened, but it may have something to do with the fact that the program and all my media is on a external hard-drive rather than installed on the computer itself.

I really hope its me being stupid but I have tried a few things which haven’t worked.
Thanks in advance, wp142.

Hi WP142

Thanks for your kind words about trakAxPC. Glad you are enjoying it. We have seen this before with 24bit samples or loops.

Are the wav samples 24bit samples? If so trakAxPC needs the 24bit codec installed on your machine in order to read them.
You can install this codec by downloading it @ (http://www.xpcodecpack.com/)

Because this codec pack is not developed by us we cannot take responsiblity for it but we have had other users download it and it has been fine.

With some MP3 files we have found direct x has an issue reading them. We have encountered this before and are in process of fixing this for next release. It should only happen on very few mp3 though and most should be working fine.

If you feel that this not the issue, please send a sample file of both a wav and an mp3 and we will have the development team look into it further. Please send it to

Please feel free to contact me at any time and thanks for the feedback.

Best regards
Cormac

Hi, thanks for the fast reply! Sorry about the delay I’ve been away.
Anyway, I’ve found the problem...basically I dont have enough memory left in the C: drive on my laptop as it’s pretty much full. So when I import mp3 files into TrakAx, the ‘temporary’ files that save themselves into the C: drive fill it up and so i can only import a certain amount of files before I run out of memory.
I temporarily solved the problem by deleting a few programs that I don’t use to give me some more memory, but this won’t help me for much longer! As I said, I am using a portable hard drive on which the program and files are saved..So would it be possible for me to change the location where the temporary files are saved to my portable hard drive as I still have loads of memory left on that...?
Hope all that makes sense...!

Hi wp142

trakAxPC stores information in the standard place as recommended Microsoft. We believe that there is a way to change where windows stores the temporary files but it would take the dev team quite while to find out this information and go through the steps to make it work. It seems a tricky process and we would not be comfortable in recommending this as it could start to cause problems with your PC and other applications that interact with temp files.

However:
In trakAxPC there is an option where you can clean out files that you are not using anymore:
To do this select Tools > Maintenance:( see Screenshot)

You will be brought into the Maintenance window:

In the Remove Files Not Used section: use the drop down menu and select All Files and select Remove.

Then Click Ok.

This will remove all files used from TrakAxPC in the Temp folder:

Hopefully this might clear up some space.

See ScreenShot:

Another suggestion would be right click on your C drive in windows explore, click properties and select Disk Clean Up. See Screenshot:

This might clear up some space.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards
Cormac

Hi Cormac, thanks for another fast reply! I did a disk cleanup, and found a few programs on my laptop that I don’t need so have deleted them...I’ve freed about 1Gb of memory so the program is working quite nicely! Thanks for the advice.

Will.

PS....here’s my first finished mix.....some of it is a bit sketchy as I’m just getting to grips with the software so any comments, criticisms or advice would be most welcome!

Hi Dj XX grin

Just listening to your mix at the moment, sorry for not getting back sooner, up to eyes over here.

Enjoying the mix a lot, just put on my iPod. I think Colm is right on the volumes, need to be tweaked a little bit but very enjoyable none the less.

I see you put the tracklisting on another post. Some great tracks there!

Good work.

Looking forward to more.

Cormac

Hey Cormac, thanks for the feedback. Yes, i deinifitely agree about the volume..and i will bear that in mind for future mixes!

And maybe I need to change my “name”....haha...it seemed quite funny at the time, as I actually couldnt think if a decent name...but it is a bit ridiculous as well!

I’ve got a new mix on the go, it should be up soon...and I will maksure the volume is sorted out this time!

Will.

Hi Cram.

We have discovered an issue with this MP3. We have a fix for it now and it will be included in the new release which will be available very soon.

Thanks for sending it over.

Cheers
