Temp file location, etc.

Is there a way to specify the directory used for temp files, and have them delete when the program exits? I notice that after using TrakAx, my internal memory takes a massive hit and I have to delete the files by hand.

Also, does anyone notice a tendency for devices to lock overnight after TrakAx editing sessions? I am suspicious this is the case on my Sprint Touch Pro w/ stock ROM.

Hi Dr. G.

Thanks for the message and for checking out trakAxMobile.

The only files that should be saved are mixes that you have chosen to save - i.e. completed mixes that you choose to save to particular folders/your SD card etc. There should be no temp files saved and as you can save your videos/tracks to your SD card, there should be no hit to the memory. As video files can become large, we always recommend saving to your SD card.

You can also run trakAxMobile from your SD Card (this is what we would recommend), so this can also save memory rather than installing the application on the device. However, there is lots of memory on your device, so there shouldn’t any issue.

If you have created a mix, but do not want to save this mix, by quitting the application, the temp file will be deleted. You can quit the application from the Save Screen (please see screenshot below). There can only ever be one temp file at any time - once you create a new mix (ie. click the record button), the new mix will always overwrite the previous mix held in the temp file.

We have however experienced some issues with the HTC Touch Pro and have currently taken this phone off our list of supported devices. We are now thoroughly investigating this device and we will get back to you with our findings.

I hope all the above makes sense and please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

Best regards,

Catriona

Hm, I seem to get a lot of .raw files left behind whether I save my mix, render it or not. But this doesn’t always happen, it seems intermittent. I also cannot seem to control whether it saves these files in main memory (root directory) or on the SD card in a directory called “Highandes”. The program otherwise works fine on the TP.

If you need anything tested or confirmed on the TP, just let me know!

Hi Dr. G.

thanks for the message. The issue with the .raw files should not be happening. We hope to have an update in the next few days to solve the issues with the Touch Pro - currently this seems to be the only device exhibiting these quirks.

Many thanks for the testing offer - once we have this update ready to go, we probably will take you up on this offer!

Thanks again,

Catriona
