This is my first successful attempt at using the multi-track.  The primary stereo track was made with iamthepcjungulator and imported into trakAxPc.  Three tracks of sampled thunder and a track of sampled rain storm sounds were added and an additional track of percussion was added using the volume envelope.  The thunderclaps utilized the pan envelope.

I’m really pleased with the result and can’t sing your praises loudly enough.

Thanks!

Hi n0mad23,

really like the track, got a very nice ambient quality to it and kinda reminds of music Future Sound of London use to make. I would even suggest maybe introducing some effects like Flanger, Echo & Chorus in parts, which can give the song some extra sound features.

Overall, great track and looking forward to hearing your next piece of work,

Keep it up and thanks for posting on the forum,

All the best,

Colm

Thanks Colm,

You’re the third person to invoke Future Sound of London with one of my tracks.  I must admit I started to loose touch with a lot of that kind of music around the time that On U Sound peaked (at least in terms of exposure on this side of the pond).

I experimented with all three effects you suggested above, and I meant to comment on them in my other post.  I’m delighted that each of the effects is configurable, and that the five settings available in the flanger are really all that are necessary.  Again, for free software this really is a mind blower.

I was really surprised to find a built in compressor!  A lot of audio software neglects this feature, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how well it works with trakAxPC.  I’m betting it’s going to make some tracks really come to life.

After exorcising the ‘noise’ with Simian Defiance, I’m now working on another ambient track that’s far more melodic and gentle in its approach.  I’ll certainly post it here when I’m satisfied with it.

Cheers, and thanks for the brilliant piece of software.
