Hi,

I’ve searched around and can’t seem to find anyone else having this problem, so I apologize in advance if I’m doing something stupid.  Whenever I load a music file in trakaxpc it sounds fine if clicked in the media browser, but upon loading the file into the mixer it sounds very low in quality (really “tinny").  What’s up, how do I fix this?

Hi AeroShark

Just a couple of questions so we can get to the bottom of this for you.

Do all your files sound like this or is it individual MP3’s , wav’s or wma’s?

Have you downloaded any direct x effects or codecs (fddshow etc) onto your machine?

Did this happened the first time you downloaded trakaxpc or has it just been introduced recently.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this for you.

Best regards

Cormac

Hey Cormac, thanks for your help.

It seems to be all mp3 files; all my wav files work fine.  I’ve installed k-lite mega codec pack (both 64 and 32 bit versions), which includes ffdshow, divx, etc.  And this has been happening since I first installed trakaxpc (but I had the codec pack was installed before trakaxpc, so I’m guessing this is part of the problem)

Hi Aeroshark

I will download the K-lite mega codec pack and do some testing here and if that could be the issue. Thanks for getting back.

Cheers
Cormac

Hi AeroShark

Sorry for the delay, we are extremely busy on the new release of trakAxpc. We are still investigating different codec packs with the current version trakaxpc. So far we have not discovered any issue with this codec pack and low quality issues with mp3’s. We are also working on our codecs for the new release of trakaxpc which will work indepentantly from all other codec packs.

We are continuing with our testing and if we find any issue we will let you know.

Thanks and best regards
Cormac
