Another thing that can be useful for shortcuts is to check the “Prompts” - the Prompt window will let you know any keyboard shortcuts available

see screenshot - http://www.trakax.com/images/uploads/prompt.bmp

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the quick response, and sorry if I wasn’t very clear.

I didn’t know that the space bar already acted as the play button, so that’s pretty cool.
When I move the cursor over the “Play” button, text pops up that just says “Play”.  It might be good to have it say something like “Play (space)” so that people will know what the hotkey for that button is.  I know that the prompt window actually does tell you the keyboard shortcut for the selected button, but since I don’t normally use the prompt window, it might be nice to have it pop up when you move your mouse over it.

When I say “Hotkeys”, I am talking about keyboard shortcuts like “s”, ctrl-s, shift-s, or alt-s.  When pressed, these would toggle on/off functions like segment snapping, sticky nodes, or grid snapping.  Also, to adjust a certain value (like the global tempo) you could use something like “Shift-up/down arrow” to bump the global tempo up or down by 10.  You already have keyboard shortcuts like, “R” to toggle “Play in reverse” on or off, I just think it would be good to have this type of thing for more tools (mostly the ones mentioned above).

With colapsible headers, I have thought about it, and I actually think it would be better to just have smaller buttons, which would result in smaller toolbars (or headers).

Thanks again, can’t wait for the next release!

Oh, sorry.  The global tempo shortcut already exists.  Never mind about that…
