Hi Barefoot,

Thanks for the message. This is quite an unusual issue - Nalperion is the service we use to handle our licensing system and we have not encountered this issue before.

Can I confirm the following:

A. You downloaded the software from our website (http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/download/)?

B. Are you a developer - ie. do you have VMWare (or Ghost) installed on your PC or are trying to install the software on a virtual machine?

C. Are you running Programs such as SafeBoot will not allow any data to actually be written to the hard drive?

Let me know if any of these issues apply and we will try and get to the bottom of this issue for you asap.

Many thanks,

Catriona

Umm...no not a developer. Just installed it the regular way.No Ghosts installed

C. Are you running Programs such as SafeBoot will not allow any data to actually be written to the hard drive?

No I do not. Any help would be appreciated, really would love to have the program up and running..

Hi Barefoot

This might be happening because of your Administrator privilege’s in Vista or another application might be running this service.

Can you try and install the application in Administrator mode.

To do this:

Find the installer that you downloaded from our site and then right click on it and select ”Run As Administrator” See screenshot:

Hopefully once the application is installed under administrator privileges you will be able to run the application and the service will be installed and started. If not please contact us and we will look in helping you further and get you up and running with the application.

Best regards

Cormac

LOl...Cormac..thank you so much for your help. The administrator privileges are definitely not the issue. Actually I work with dedicated servers and such, so I’m not a Newbie wink. Of course you can’t know that..just a little frustrated with the latest response by you.

The program will install, then when you close the installation window it gives the error message nalpeiron service ..

No Admin problems, ghosts or whatever..
If this is a new bug report with no fix, oh well. I guess I’ll have to live with it. smile

If you could find out why this particular service did not install, let me know. There was nothing to be found on Google..

Hi Barefoot,

Just a quick question further to Cormac’s email - does an error number appear as part of the Error Message (Such as Error -11 or Error -63)?

Although infrequent, such Errors would occur for the following reasons:

Service install failed (error code -11) caused by not installing the service in the windows system 32 folder or Windows telling filechck.dll that the Windows is located in the Documents and settings folder.

Service missing (error code -63) caused by the same reasons as listed above.

Very Infrequent Errors:
No internal hard drives found (error code -83) caused by highly irregular computer architecture.
Drive does not read reliably (error code -107) caused by a extremely worn hard drive that does not send back 100% reliable data.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you,

Catriona

I will supply you with a screen shot...my pc is not even 1 year old and it gets defrag’d weekly. As far as I know there was no error code, will find out in 1 second when I try to install it again.

Many thanks for this Barefoot - we are going to have a chat about this first thing in the morning and explore some options. We have yet to see this issue here and this is the first time it is reported, so we need to see what could be causing this problem.

I will be in touch tomorrow.

Hi Barefoot,

We have been looking at your issue overnight. We have checked, double-checked and trible-checked the installer and can see no issues. We have put together the following instructions to get to the bottom of this issue for you and get you up and running. It may seem a bit of a long-winded, but should take less than 5 mins.

1. Search for the following file “NlsSrv32.exe” in the Windows System32 directory.
If present please send us a copy of it* and make a backup for yourself.

2. Open a Command Prompt Window. (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)

3. Type “sc queryex nlsX86cc”. (please note - do not include the inverted commas)

4. Type “sc stop nlsX86cc” to stop the service if it is currently running.

5. Type “sc delete nlsX86cc” to delete the service if it exists.

6. Copy the attached file to the System32 directory (Sent by PM). If the file already exists then replace only if more recent. Trakax is currently using file version 5.9.0.0.

7. Type “sc create nlsX86cc BinPath= c:\windows\system32\nlssrv32.exe DisplayName= “Nalpeiron Licensing Service” start= auto type= own” to create the service.

8. Type “sc start nlsX86cc” to start the service.

9. Type “sc queryex nlsX86cc”.

10. Copy this entire command prompt exchange and email it to us. (You will have to right-click on the Command Prompt Window and choose “Select All” and then Copy).

11. Run the Trakax installer.

*If the NlsSrv32.exe is present, please send us a copy, as it will help us diagnose this issue. Your email service may not allow you to email EXE file types. If so, right-click on the EXE and click “rename”, delete the .exe from the file name. You should now be allowed email the file.

Please note: you can copy and paste all the text into the Command Prompt by using your right-click functions.

Hopefully we can diagnose this problem today.

Many thanks,

Catriona

I have windows 7 x64 and I’m getting the full install and then when I close get the same Nalpeiron error. No error code just the error ???? Prior to this error on the same machine Im using now I had win7 x86 and TrakAx worked ok but since I upgraded to x64 and reinstalled I get this Nalpeiron error also.

Very annoying as I rely on TraxAx for weekly blog mixes on my site :(

hey - thanks for your message. I am going to have to look into this further and will get back to you first thing tomorrow, once I have a chance to see what could be happening here.

Sorry for the delay, but should have something for you tomorrow.

Thanks,

hey Snotbroth,

we are currently looking at your issue. Can you confirm whether you are in Free / Trial mode or whether you have licensed the application?

Many thanks,

Catriona

I’ve run into this problem too. This is my first time installing TrakAx and it looks like a great program.

It turns out something else has already installed a service named ‘Nalpeiron Licensing Service’ on my PC and Windows will not let another service have the same description.

I was able to get around the problem by using 7-Zip to extract the nlssrv32.exe file from the install executable, manually placing it in the \windows\system32 directory, and running:

sc create nlsX86cc binPath= c:\windows\system32\nlssrv32.exe DisplayName= “TrakAx Nalpeiron Licensing Service” start= auto type= own

Note that I added ‘TrakAx’ to the DisplayName.

I am running Windows 7, but I don’t know how or even if there is a way to check what installed the other Nalpeiron Licensing Service.

I have all the same issues as below, nearly 2 years later!! I have installed as Administrator and all files visible. I cannot find the nlsx86cc.exe files yet it shows in processes, but fails to find a path. I found the nlsSrv32.exe in http://www.Windows/SysWOW64
I also have Win 7 x64 Quad processors on a HP piece of crap called Pavilion dv6.
I had issues a while back getting TrakAx to work on it but eventually it did, albeit an occasional freeze - how unusual for Windows and HP.
I purchased the program this morning because it really looks good for what I’m after. I entered the activation code and got a big green tick, but thats all. Activating shows a fault #11.

The other issue is that I purchased the program, via TrakAx program for $AUD35 then found shortly after (1/2 hr) it was on the web site for $24.95. Not very happy about that. I seem to have a jinx with this program and maybe after a refund if not fixed soon.

I am wasting far too much time trying to sort this out.
