Hey Markus,
Yes it is possible to search for files which are located on a network or external hard-drive.
If you cannot see your network drive in Explorer mode, click on the “Scan” tab in the Media Browser.

In the Scan tab, click on the icon “Choose area on your hard-drive to search”. (See first screenshot below).
When clicked the “Browse for Folder” window will appear. In this window, you can locate specific folders and drives on your network. (See second screenshot). Browse through your drives until you find the network you are looking for. You can search deep into the network by doubling clicking on the folder name.
