Hi,
does anyone know how to create an old movie effect, like from movies of the 1920ies?
Monochrome I get, but how to make that staccato effect (from 24 frames pre second?) Speeding up is just faster…

Thankx!!

Thanks for your post.
I have done a forum post before that shows you how to create an old movie effect. I have also done a support video as well.

Hi SuperM

Thanks for passing on the video.

What you can do is speed up the video clip so it seems quicker and more jerky.

Check out the wiki that explains how to do this( there is a video included as well)

http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Changing_the_Play_Rate_of_a_Video/

I have also done a tips and tricks video that shows you how to do this:

In regards to downloading the clip, have you tried the new free realplayer that allows you download videos from YouTube? It is very good and you can convert them to mp4 so you can use them in trakaxpc.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Best regards

thanks, the speeding up helps a lot though I liked a little different effect, but your tutorial with the film scratches is great!
My moovie seems fine right now, just about to find out how to make a higher contrast in the monochrome (nor just brightness), I think then it will be perfectly “old”!!!

Thanks,
superM

btw: I use “free youtube download”, that’s compatible.
I don’t know why. with the youtube downloader my vlc-player can play the movies, but any other programm doesn’t seem to recognize the format....
