Hi johnywhy

Thanks for downloading trakAxPC

This should not be happening.

Would it possible to send me the file via https://www.yousendit.com/ if it not too much trouble (it is free so we can take a look at it). It would be great, as we could fix this for the next release.

My e-mail is

In the meantime, you can rotate the video clip in both the mixing screen and trakkutter so that it will be facing the correct way. Please see the Wiki Links Below (videos included)

http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Resize_Image_in_the_Segment_Properties_-_Rotate_Horizontal_&_Vertical_Flip/

http://www.trakax.com/software/wiki/Trakkutter_-_Preview_Window_-_Rotate_Image/

I have also included a video I did for a user who wanted to rotate a video:

I hope this helps and if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

Cormac

hi

this occurs with an avi only, not wmv.

the problem avi began life as an mp4, converted to avi using nch prism video converter.

prism avi settings:
compressor: mpeg4 (native)

such an avi is NOT attached, because your forum will not allow me to attach this 370K avi file, using google chrome.

you should be able to download the avi here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9565820/alan_Converted.avi

thanks!

Hi johnywhy

Thanks for sending this on.

What operating system are you working on? We have tested the file on the test machines here and the file is playing okay I think. The right way up.

It might be a codec issue, in that trakAxPC is playing the file with a codec installed on your machine. This codec is not being interpreted correctly by the application.

Can you try one thing that might solve the issue as the codec being used in the file is the XVID codec?

This could be happening because you don’t have the XVID decoder installed on your PC or is being read incorrectly. I would recommend closing down trakAxPC and downloading the Fddshow tryout codecs. http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/

After you install the codecs re-open trakAxPC.

The file that you have been using might be held in the cache before you installed the xvid codec

Therefore,I would recommend clearing the cache of all parsed files in trakAxPC. To do this, firstly close all mixing screens and click on Tools/ Maintenance. Then click on Remove all files. ( see screenshot)

The cache will now be cleared then try and bring the file .

Hopefully once this has been done the video will play the correct way. If not we can rule out the codec solution and we will look into this further.

Please let me know how you get on and if you need any help don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards

Cormac

i installed ffdshow with default settings, but i noticed there were many options in the installer which were NOT checked. does that matter?

the installer ends with option to run decoder configs. should i do that?

thanks

Hi

Thanks for the update.

It is okay to leave these unchecked but you can check them also so if you encounter another avi file encoded with these codecs trakAxPC will decode them. Xvid which is the codec the video you sent over is encoded with is already on by default. I would probably recommend checking Mpeg1 and 2 so you can decode avi files with an mpeg 1 or 2 codec which are quite popular.

You can always turn this codecs on and off in the ffdshow application in the program files.

In answer to decode configs, click yes.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards

Interesting. While Catriona is trying to solve the problem of getting TrakAxPc to accept my serial number on my imaged drive, I’ve resorted to converting my mp4 files to avi and using a trial version (sure miss that snap video and sound together feature and the crossfade). My mp4 files imported properly but not the converted avi files. I have the same problem as the person above even after following the steps outlined. It’s a minor issue since you can flip the image in TrakAxPc, but I’m starting to think this software doesn’t like very much. :Þ

Hi Alaprade

Thanks for sending the file on, I have got it.

I can see the issue you are having. It has to do with the application being unlicensed and how the application is reading this file. If the application is licenced this does not happen.

I have passed this onto the engineers and It will be fixed for the next release.

Thanks a million for taking the time to send this on.

Best regards

Cormac
