Is there any way to preserve a video’s original aspect ratio? After rendering a 576 x 240 videoclip, it comes out squashed.

Hi sidewinder

You can change the aspect of the video output but not to 576 x 240.The drop down menu in the media configuration window has a number of aspects to choose from. Maybe try some other aspects and see if that helps.

To do this go to options in main toolbar ( see screenshot)

and select media configuration (see screenshot)

Here you can select new aspects for your video output.

If this does not help, please get back to us and we look into it further.

best regards

Cormac

Thanks for the assistance!

I’ve played around with the mixer configuration but it doesn’t have any aspect ratios that are close.

The movie I’m editing has a 1:2.4 aspect ratio (movie widescreen), but from memory the closest I can get with the config is 1.33 (like a TV).

I guess what I’ll use as a workaround is some resizing software to resize the rendered movie.

One thing I’ve gotta say though, is thanks for a great product! It puts many of the commercial offerings to shame.

Hi Sidewinder

Thank you for your kind words about TrakAxPC.

Sorry that the aspect defaults didn’t work for you. I have added it to the feature wishlist for the dev team.

Thanks Again
Cormac

Thanks for replying… I found a nifty workaround for the aspect ratio problem.

Since my video is going to be used in a corporate presentation, I simply embedded it in a Powerpoint slide and adjusted the height and width to my liking. Problem solved. smile
