I’m proud to reveal the first episode of Yakass Coastal Kayak Fishing Show, which is the a 2-part account of a Fraser Island (Australia) kayak fishing expedition, built exclusively on TrakAx, which was the only app I used from camera to output for this clip. Only my 2nd TrakAx project, but I’m really getting the hang of this fast.

Part 1 covers days 1 - 4 and features some great trevally, flathead and small spanish mackerel. It also offers a fleeting flashback to our 2009 trip, so viewers will also see why we went back in 2010. Part 2 will be live in a couple of days (will update here when done). Enjoy grin

Hey Yakass,

Brilliant video, really impressed with episode 1 and already looking forward to part 2. Excellent edits, cuts, music and your microphone is crystal clear.

I believe Catriona was on to you about using your footage in a blog we are doing about outdoor pursuits, but would it be possible to share this on our Facebook page today?

Here is the link to our Facebook page if you would like to join and post any footage yourself.

Thanks again for sharing this great video and for your kind words, keep up the good work,

Colm.

Hi Colm and thanks for compliments. That was my 1st go using some of that hardware, somewhat of a challenge in that environment, particularly for recording audio. But I was happy with the results regardless.
By all means, you’re welcome to post this on the TrakAx Facebook page. I try to go to Face book as little as humanly possible myself though. I’ll get around to joining the TrakAx group, but probably only when I’m ‘forced’ to log in next. grin

And yes, you’re right - there are scary things in those waters there. We watched a 4 mt shark almost beach itself hunting stingrays. We were all using Shark Shields though, so we were relaxed about that. After having a great white shark get a bit too close and curious on one occasion (an event I also caught on video) one starts to look at protective measures!

And there’s part2. More action packed, including a brief but scary encounter with a big and angry trevally, as well as a shark-wrestling match at the side of the kayak.

Hey Yakass,

another quality video, great tension at the end when you are fighting with the shark. I also posted your fisrt episode on our trakAx Facebook - you can view the link here. I will post part 2 in a day or two.

You may also be interested in another video posted by a forum member “Realswell” who is interested in Kayak fishing also. You can view his post here - http://www.trakax.com/software/forum/viewthread/839/

Once again thanks for posting and looking forward to seeing a new video soon,

Cheers,

Colm

Very well done. Do a bit of kayak fishing in Florida on a Folbot kayak with sail.  What camera are you using.

Best,
Pats
