When I try and run trakAxPC, I receive a Not Valid Win32 Application message?
In the past, we experienced a problem when downloading the app using IE and saving to a new folder. We’re working hard on this and hope to have it solved shortly. What is happening is that the file is not downloading fully when saved to a new created folder. It seems to be a partial download instead of a full download causing a Win32 error. In the meantime, you can simply save trakAxPC to your desktop/existing folder on your hard drive and you will not experience this problem. Otherwise, you can use Firefox/ Safari/ Chrome etc. and you will have no issues.

Most Frequently Asked Questions
If you change the BPM of an audio segment by a significant amount, you will need to change the time stretching parameters
from High Performance to High Quality. If you have assigned many different audio segments to a single channel, you will need to change each of
the individual segments to High Quality. You can achieve this change by selecting the Red Tick icon on each of the specific segments and thereafter
click the BPM Parameter icon and change to High Quality. It should be noted that High Quality time-stretching requires significant additional CPU
resources but this should not pose any problems with high end CPUs.

In my some of my rendered videos, the audio and video are out slightly out of sync in QuickTime?
This is a known issue with QuickTime for Windows; we recommend playing your video files with our own player within the application or downloading another player that is specifically designed to run in a Windows environment.
Some of my videos appear washed out and the colour is distorted in QuickTime and Real Player?
This is a known issue in QuickTime and Real Player and is known as the H.264 gamma shift bug. It is particularly noticeable with mixes created using jpeg files. We recommend playing your video files with our own player within the application or downloading another player that is specifically designed to run in a Windows environment.
I have a network drive mapped to my computer and TrakAxPC won’t boot?
This happens when you have a network drive mapped to your hard drive and then you disconnect your computer from the network and try and boot the application. The application is looking for your mapped network drive and cannot find it, as you are disconnected and therefore the application will not start. To remedy this problem, you will need to either reconnect your PC to the network or un-map the network drive.
Why do some of my saved mixes now have the word (licensed) in brackets after it?
During the 30 day free trial, you are allowed to create mixes with all the features available in the Pro version. Once the 30 day free trial ends, some features are disabled. We automatically save the mix and indicate that it was created in a licensed version (version with all features available). If you decided to purchase the Pro features you will be able to access this saved mix with all the features re-activated and you don’t lose any work.
Can you run trakAxPC in two separate user accounts on a single PC simultaneously?
No, you must close the application down in one of the user accounts before you can open it again in another account.
YouTube is encountering a problem with the anti-virus software on your machine. If you try to upload a video directly through the YouTube site, you will also encounter this problem. The work around for this is to disable your anti-virus software manually, upload your video and then turn your anti-virus software back on. YouTube are working on a fix for this and this issue is reported in their help forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=715305ec0becf843&hl=en
This occurs when there are two or more user accounts created on your PC and is required in order to establish the proper user privileges to access the application.
I have a problem when my computer comes out of standby/hiberation or suspend mode, why is this?
Many computer manufactuers have implemented their own power management techniques and some of these can cause your applications to perform erractically immediately after your computer recovers from a power save state. Specifically, if you have selected a sleep/hibernate/standby state from the power options menu in the control panel, the resulting selection may behave very differently from that selected by a standby/hibernate condition applied to the power button. TrakAxPC may experience a playing stutter at the very start of the first segment on each track the first time you play a mix after recovery from a sleep/standby/hibernate state if selected from the control panel menu. If this problem should occur, it will only be experienced on the first play of each suspended mix and thereafter will play correctly. This is not an issue attributable to trakAxPC and is specific to the PC's Hardware and Software configuration.
When parsing/importing large files, the screen goes white?
Parsing a file is a very CPU intensive operation and parsing a very large file may take several minutes depending on your PC's resources. During this parsing process, most of the CPU resources are committed to this process, which can result in your screen going white. Please be patient, as we are prioritising the parsing process to get you mixing without delay.

PC Performance Considerations
PC Performance Considerations when mixing or playing multimedia files.
Some performance considerations to be aware of when mixing and playing multimedia files.
Audio and Video creation can involve some heavy duty stress on your PC resources. There are a few factors that you should be aware of from the outset. Your mix may contain many tracks of audio or video or both, which may have time-stretching, effects, transitions, fades, etc, applied. The higher the number of tracks and segments and the greater the number of parameters applied to segments and tracks, the greater the performance hit will be on your computer. The main factors that effect the performance hit when making large complex mixes using large size files are:
CPU speed and whether it is Single, Dual or Quad Core. Usually, the higher the speed the better the performance. Generally, the higher the number of cores the better the performance.
Memory (Random Access Memory). The greater the memory (RAM) size the better. We recommend a minimum of 1GB but for very large complex mixes using large file sizes, 2GB would be most desirable.
Hard Disk Speeds. The higher the drive speed the better. Drive speed of 7,200 rpm upwards is most desirable for large complex mixes.
Hard Disk Buffering. If possible, try to have 16MB of HDD buffer memory available.
The factors that effect playing videos with large frame sizes at high frame rates are the same as those outlined above for large complex mixes. You may experience some stuttering or lip-sync issues when playing large videos with large frame sizes at high frame rates on lower resourced PC's. If you experience any of these difficulties playing videos, you can convert the files, using trakAxPC's convertion facility, to a lower frame size and frame rate more appropiate to your PC's resources.
Some playback problems have been experienced when playing files in Quicktime for Windows. These inconsistences have not been exhibited when playing the same files in Quicktime on Mac computers. If you are experiencing a playing problem in Quicktime for Windows with colour washout or a lip-sync problem, we would recommend that you either play the files in trakAxPC or download one of the more popular media players from the net. The problems referenced above, using Quicktime for Windows, are not normally experienced when using the same files with any of these popular downloadable players. Again, video with high frame sizes at high frame rates may stress your PC which may result in frequent play stuttering and frame freezes or will play the audio out of sync.
