View Category:Envelopes -> Inserting & Changing the Pitch of an Audio Segment using the Pitch Env
Pitch Envelopes allow users to change the pitch of the audio file anywhere along a track by re-positioning or adjusting nodes on the pitch envelope at the selected locations. To insert a Pitch Envelope, right click on the audio segment and from the drop down menu select “View Envelopes”. In the View Envelopes sub menu, select Pitch Envelope.
A Pitch Envelope will now be displayed on the segment and will be shown as a yellow line, fixed in the center of the segment, which is the default pitch setting position.
The shape of an envelope will dictate how smoothly or sharply the selected function is applied between nodes. The shape of any envelope between adjacent nodes can be changed by right clicking on the envelope with your mouse and then selecting an option available from the drop down menu such as Smooth, Sharp, Fast, Slow, etc.
Whilst a node is being moved, a indicator window pops-up at the node position to display the movement of the envelope away from its default position.
Nodes may be inserted at any position on the envelope and the nodes can be adjusted or positioned to adjust the pitch of the track, in semitone steps, up or down, to give the desired results. The envelope shape between nodes can be changed by right clickling on the envelope and selecting the required shape from the drop down menu.
