Auto selection is a technique to allow users to quickly mark and select a block of segments and effects.
Click the Auto select button and the mouse cursor indicator will change to a broken rectangular shape. Next move the mouse to the target area in the mixing window. Press and hold the left mouse button, and as the mouse is moved, a shaded area will appear. This shaded area can be expanded or contracted to cover any segment and effects areas. Everything underneath the gray shaded area is now selected and the selection can then be easily applied by a right click on the selected segment and from the drop down menu, select the desired feature.
Once the block of segments is highlighted, right click on one of the segments and from the drop down menu select “Add To Group”. In the Add to Group sub menu, choose a group number, here we will select “Group 1”. You can create up to 9 distinct groups within each mixing window and each segment within that group will display its unique group number.
These block of segments are now bound together in Group 1 and will always move as one unit until one or more of the segments is removed from the group.
