View Using Auto-Selection Tool with Effects

Auto selection is a shortcut technique to quickly place a block of segments and effects in a selected state.
Click this button and the mouse cursor will change to a broken rectangle. Move the mouse to the area of interest in the palette. Then press and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse. A shaded area will appear. As this shaded area moves over segments and effects these objects will become selected. Selected objects can then easily be copied, moved or deleted.

If you wish to move a segment with a effect positioned on it to another area in the mixing window, use the auto-selection tool to select both the segment and the effect. Once both are selected you can move them with your mouse as one unit to another an area. You can select multiple segments and effects with the auto selection tool to move.

You can also group effects and segments together. Grouping allows you to combine several segments and/or effects into a single unit for the purposes of copying, moving, deleting, locking and unlocking.

If you wish to group segments with a effects positioned on them, use the auto-selection tool to select both the segment and the effect. Once both are selected, right click on the selected items and from the drop down menu, select Add to Group. You can create up to 9 distinct groups within each mixing screen and each group will be labelled accordingly.
