Licensing trakAxPC

Licensing trakAxPCTo install trakAxPC, please visit our Download page. After Downloading trakAxPC, you will find the trakAxPC exe in your default Downloads folder (eg. Desktop / My Documents > Downloads etc.)

Once you install trakAxPC, you can use all the features of trakAxPC completely free for 15 days.

After 15 days, trakAxPC will be disabled.

After you purchase trakAxPC, you will receive a License Code by email. Please enter your License Code to activate trakAxPC. You may also reach the activate screen from the Help Menu.

Firewall /Anti-Spyware Issues

TrakAxPC and NortonIn the unlikely situation that your firewall prevents trakAxPC from access the Internet to activate your license, please click the option “allow access to the Internet”

If your anti-spyware software asks to “allow access to the service” at startup, please click yes.

We take your privacy extremely seriously. We do not gather information about you.
We do not track or record your computer activity.
We do not scan or examine the contents of your hard drive.

License Deactivation – Moving your License

trakAxPC - License DeactivationIf you have got a new PC and would like to move your License, you have to “Deactivate your License” on your old PC.

Once you have deactivated the license, you can then use your original License Code on a new PC.

Pro Customers Upgrading from Version 3

If you have purchased trakAxPC Version 3, you are eligible to a free upgrade to Version 4. Simply download the trial version of trakAxPC. You do not have to uninstall your current version and do not have to re-enter your license code. This will be an automatic install, just follow the download instructions.

Once trakAxPC 4 is installed, we highly recommend starting the app in its default state. To do this, hold down the F8 button on your keyboard and double-click on the trakAxPC icon – a prompt window will open, click “Yes” to start in default mode.

Upgrading to trakAxPC V4 from V.3 Free

Users who are currently using the free version of trakAxPC 3.01, will not be eligible for the free upgrade to trakAxPC 4. Users availing of the free version of trakAxPC 3.01 who wish to download the new trial of trakAxPC 4, will lose their free version (forever) and will have 15 days to purchase the new version of trakAxPC 4. Once trakAxPC 4 is downloaded, you will not be able to re-install the free version of trakAxPC 3.01.

License Codes & Product Activation

What does “product activation” mean?
“Product activation” simply means that you, as user of a product, are required to perform some simple action to verify that you are an “authorized” user.

When using product activation for for trakAxPC, the License Code you received after purchase is checked against a central database, and, if it’s found to be valid (for example, if it hasn’t already been used more times than the software publisher allows), then the software is activated for immediate use.

I am concerned about privacy. Is any personal information collected during Product Activation?
No, it is not.

What do I have to do when activating a product via the Internet?
You are prompted to type in the License Code that has been provided to you by email, and click an “activate” button. That’s it; no further action is required. The “communication” between your PC and HighAndes (trakAx) is invisible and only takes a second or two. All you will see is “The software is now activated and ready for use” and no information about you was transmitted during the process.

Is “activation” the same as “registration”?
No. Activation does not require you to supply personal information.

Can Activation technology be used to invade my privacy?
No, absolutely not.

We do not gather information about you.
We do not track or record your computer activity.
We do not scan or examine the contents of your hard drive.

Does using the activation service provided by a company called Nalpeiron harm my computer, or limit what it can do?
No, absolutely not.

We do not disable, damage, or limit the functions of any hardware or any peripheral device (disk drive, CD-reader, CD-burner, etc.) on your computer. We do not prevent or restrict Internet downloads or access to any web sites. Over years of use the technology has proven to be a highly reliable, stable, and compatible technology, and has not been seen to cause system crashes or other disruptions of service.

Are there any long-term effects of activating my software?
Software installed on your machine remains independent of the trakAxPC and will continue to operate as long as your license is valid.

Why check on me, I’m honest?
Software piracy is a reality, so activation addresses this issue by spotting trends that identify unauthorized users. By activating your software you are simply informing us that the license has reached its intended recipient.

Will copy protection and activation consume excessive resources?
No, it does not.

How do you protect my privacy?
We place a high value on your privacy. The activation process does create a fingerprint of your hardware, but this “fingerprint” does not contain any personally identifying or traceable information. No spy-ware is utilized during or after this process.

The hardware fingerprint is used to ensure that license terms are being honored (i.e. different fingerprints have not been used together with the same serial number), but it can only be used for comparison and cannot identify a particular machine, let alone a person.

Can I replace components in my computer?
Yes, normal replacement of hardware components that typically occur over the lifetime of a computer will not affect the operation and activation of the software, as long as you have a valid license for the software.

What if I need to have the software installed on more than one PC?
As per the trakAxPC End User License, you may license trakAxPC to 2 computers.
